An issue that I have had with a teacher was I did not always understand their directions. The teacher would give me written directions but he/she did not do a great job of clarifying exactly what it was they wanted. The teacher would always give the directions in a way that made sense to him/her but did not always make sense to me. An issue that I have had with a previous boss was they would give me a task and then leave to go somewhere else so that when I finished the task I would look around for a while trying to find something else to do to keep me busy until they returned. Another issue that I have had with an employer was when my employer would stand there and tell me exactly how to do my job even when I knew what I was doing and could easily accomplish the task without their help or opinion. I really don’t like it when employers or teachers observe everything that I do. For the most part I haven’t disagreed with either teachers or employers very often, and when I do I try to do what I can to stay productive and complete my job.

DK, I believe that you could improve this by not blaming the teacher so much. I believe that by saying that the teacher didn’t do a great job of clarifying the instructions you make it sound as if you like to blame other people for things you don’t understand or just don’t know how to do. Some employers will not like this, but even though I believe that you can improve it by not pointing fingers so much, I do agree with your DQ.

Some problems I have had with a previous teacher are I knew that I turned an assignment in and they marked it wrong, after I told them that I did turn it in they went and looked and fount out that I turned it in that they just misplaced it. I have problems with teachers especially when they misplace your work and mark it missing and you have to do it all over again. I also have a problem with teachers who say they said something even though you know they didn’t say anything. They think they said something because they were going to but they never did and you try to explain it to them but they don’t listen. I also have a problem when a teacher says they want to hear your excuse for not getting your assignment done.

I have had some issues with some teachers. I don’t think that they know about it because I really don’t let my emotions show very much. I have had some teachers that seemed like they would just talk and talk about something extremely boring and we would get nothing done. Then when we had a couple of minutes to do the assignment he would get mad at us for not completing the assignment. That really ticked me off. Another problem I have had is with a coach. He also doesn’t know that I really don’t like him because I still work my butt off during practice and I don’t say anything about it. He would drive me crazy. I really love baseball and I have a pretty good idea about the game. He is my baseball coach but I know more about the game than he does. It is hard to respect the coach when you should be coaching him. He also has very poor discipline on the team. The kids just do whatever they want during the practice and he lets them. Practice should be serious. You can’t get better without working hard and giving a crap about the game.

Havin, I believe that this was a very good way to answer the question. It shows a potential employer that you work hard and don’t talk back to a teacher, coach, or boss. And I agree that you do not usually let your emotions show or get in the way of a job you are supposed to do.

I haven’t had that many troubles with a boss, but I have had troubles with a teacher or two. I have had issues agreeing with how they teach things. Some do their punishments for every small little thing. With not turning in assignments or even just being too silly they seem to just give out punishments. I understand when some people don’t try; it’s another when some people don’t work as fast as others. Some kids work as fast as lighting while others work as fast a snail. If the slower kids are punished for not completing their work even when they are trying it isn’t really that fair. It’s another thing when the kids aren’t trying at all. Also when teachers are trying to teach something that is easy for others and difficult for others. Some teachers just go really fast while other teachers go really slowly. When teachers go really fast lose the kids who can’t understand things as easily, than you have some kids who end up asking lots of questions then they annoy the others. When the teachers go to slow they end up losing the class, then they end up talking and making the teacher very upset. I haven’t had any trouble with my bosses but I defiantly have with my teachers.

I really haven’t had many issues with any bosses or teachers in the past. For the most part I do not talk back to teachers and I do not give them any reason to have a problem with me. One big problem I have had with teachers though is that they believed that I was not serious enough about my grades. Many teachers have told me that I need to be more serious, motivated, and concerned about what kind of grades I get. That’s just what some teachers have told me, but I do not recall talking back to any teachers unless I was just joking around or something like that. For the most part teachers do like me and I do like teachers, but they just tell me to be more serious about my grades. I believe that this won’t be a problem in the future though because I like putting out quality work when someone else relies on it. For example, I always help other students with their homework or help them study if they need it; even if my homework isn’t yet complete. Helping others out really makes me feel accomplished and makes me proud because I helped them relieve stress from their day.

It's good that you said that you don't have any issues with teacher or coaches. I do agree that you seem to not take things seriously, but since I've been in school with you all these years I know that's just the way you are. But sometimes you just have to act like you take something seriously. Overall I think it's a very good way to answer the question.

I, like most students, have had problems with a teacher I have had in the pass. This teacher had made plans with my mom and they hung out a couple of times. Then my mom stopped hanging out with that teacher and then she didn’t like me. I think that she didn’t like me because she thought that I didn’t like her because my mom stopped hanging out with her. I feel like this happens more than people would think it does. It is a very common thing to have to deal with, and frankly it stinks. I have also had problems with understanding directions from teachers. I tend to like hands on directions where the teacher shows me rather than tells me. Sometimes when I get confused I tend to ask questions and the teacher will sometimes get frustrated. I know that this happens to most of my fellow classmates and school mates. It isn’t really something that the teacher can fix though because no matter what the entire class won’t be happy. These two problems are the biggest ones that I can think of. I tend to like most of my teachers, even if my fellow classmates don’t.

I understand what you are talking about this happened in my old school a lot. It mostly happened because my mom went in and talked to my teachers about my grades and lets just say it didn't go well. I hope things with you and your teachers work out okay.

I've never really had a lot of problems with a previous teacher or boss. But sometimes there are just little things about someone that is hard to put up with. Sometimes directions are unclear or maybe I didn't understand them and the teacher wouldn't really help me, but just tell me to follow directions better and read them again. I have also had issues with bad communication between someone and myself. From that I learned that if you aren't sure of something just ask and ask until you get it or else it will get you in trouble. I have also learned from difficulties with other people is to have a lot of patience. Occasionally I will want help from a teacher and they will be talking with another student about something completely irrelevant and it’s like they don’t even care that you are in need of assistance. I know a lot of people who get angry and/or annoyed really easily and they don’t have a high tolerance level. Other than just a couple of times, I've never had many problems with teachers. But when I do, I can get really heated. But it’s best to just go along with them even if you don’t quite agree.

I haven’t really every had any problems. There are always things that I think are unfair but that is life. The only major problem I have had with a teacher was that they lost a very important assignment. This assignment determined if I had an A or an A-. In ways this is silly but I was shooting for a 4.0 G.P.A. I redid this assignment and still got a zero. In a way this was a life lesson for me because I make a point of turning in all of my assignments and making sure my name is on all of them. I have teachers that like to give a lot of homework. This is typical but it makes school difficult because I have six other classes with homework in each of them. This just gives me a lot of late night study sessions. This also helps me learn about time management. This is the most important thing in high school for me because I take a lot of difficult classes. This all shows that I don’t have issues with teachers they just find effective ways to push my buttons during school. They all teach me something though whether I like it or not.

When I had a problem with one of my teachers it was when I was in grade school. What happened was that she wasn’t giving me the grade I deserved in the class because she didn’t like me. I would go in and do a lot of extra credit to see if that would help my grade but it never did. How I solved this problem was went and told my mom what was going on and she talked to the teacher and the principal about it and I never had a problem with my grade in that class again. That was the only time I really had a really bad problem with a teacher. I have had another problem with another teacher because they would give me a bad grade on a paper and I would check it over with my friend’s paper and tell the teacher that I was correct on the problem and they still wouldn’t change my grade. As far as teachers those are the only problems I have had that weren’t my fault. As far as having troubles with bosses, I haven’t had that much job experience so haven’t had any problems with any bosses.

Maddie, I agree with you an how you have those teachers that you just cant get a long with. If they don’t give you the grade you deserve than you have to do something to get that teacher to give what you deserve. I agree with what you did to get the grade, you might have maybe tried talking to her first. Then if that didn’t work then talk to your parents. Mrs. Miller asks us to say if we have had trouble with teachers or bosses. We all have had trouble with teacher’s and/ or bosses. I have had trouble with teachers the most, but to be honest every time it has been my fault. We blame our teachers and/ or bosses for what goes wrong with us. I have blamed Mrs. Miller and other teachers for what I did wrong. I blamed her for losing an assignment but it turned out that it was in my binder the whole time. So if blame your boss and/ or your teacher. You take the blame for it anyways even if they did do it. That is what I have to say.

I have had some issues with previous bosses. I have not gotten paid on time and some don't like to explain to me about what I am doing. I fixed the problem by talking to them and also asking my parents on how to fix it.

The question this week was for me to answer “tell me about issues you have had with a boss or teacher.” The link that was there for us to look at read that I should just say that I have not had any problems. When I read that I thought, so I am just supposed to lie? Everyone has had a problem at one point or another with a teacher or boss. I have always been told that honesty is the best policy. I actually have had problems before with a teacher or boss, just like most people. A problem that I have had is when understanding a task, such as the directions or just the project in general. Most of the time when I find directions confusing I have to ask and get help so that I can complete the assignment. Another problem that I have had in the past is that I use to get made fun of a lot. I use to have to go to the office and talk with the principal because other students and I would not get along. We would go in there and try to work out our problems, for a while the principal did not believe me until he saw it happen. So he and I use to have disagreements before things got resolved.

C.c. I think you should talk about problems you have less. Most people do have problems with previous bosses or teachers. I personally get along with people in general I seriously love being around people so I haven’t had any problems out loud that I can remember but I have disagreed with a teacher in my head thinking “ this is really not teaching me anything” or “what am I getting out of this” but I wouldn’t tell the interviewer that I would say something like well for a little while the principle and I didn’t agree until I communicated and he witnessed what was going on so now we have an even stronger business relationship so we can communicate when we think something is wrong in the school.

I have realy good experience with my bosses but not so much with my teachers. I don' t now why this is like this but I have always got along better with my bosses. But for the most part I have realy good work skills and and not so much lisoning skills the only teachers I have ever had problems with are the ones that lose my homework and tell me I did not turn it in, and when teachers think I can't do the work but I can. But I think I get along better with my bosses because I know them better and in the realy word there will not be a employer that you know at all or very little and that is hard for me. And I like farm work way more than school work and all of my jobs are farm related. And you have get along with everybody. Because I hope I will not be halling grain for a living.

I have had my problems with my teachers but they were all solved easily and quickly. Most of my problems are from missing assignments. The reason I got them is because I am involved with a lot of things like football, wrestling, track and FFA so sometimes these clubs and sports will take me out of school in order to compete like in FFA I was pulled out for 2 days in order to compete at state and another two days for regional wrestling and some times track. But other then that I am a joy to be around and a hard worker I don't have missing assignments when I am in school. Also I do very well on my tests and I just have that can do attitude to get every thing I need to do done especially when I can effect another persons grad like a team activity. I will work on it as much as I can or if I need to do something in order for someone else to get there thing done. Comments are closed.
