When I hear the word success I think it means that someone or something is really good at something. Like sports or cooking or driving, and other stuff. To me I want to be successful at golf because it’s really fun, and I would like to teach my future kids how to play. I feel successful because I haven’t quite school yet or got kicked out or killed a man. The person I think that has success is Mr. Pederson because he’s got style and he is funny, and nice, and he always try’s to help you or teach you something that involves music.

What do I think of when I hear the word success I think of that person being very good at something like school for example. What I want to be successful at would be school like getting good grades and not failing everything. I also want to be successful at listening better and following directions and also maybe sports I love sports but I suck at them. I really don’t think im that successful as a student because I have troubles remembering stuff and my grades are horrible I try my hardest but oh well =) =) Someone that I think has been very successful would be katlyn because she trys and never gives up and she helps everyone when she can and that’s why I think she is very successful.

I think the word success means that you accomplish tasks in something you do. I want to be successful at school. In the future I would like to be successful at my career. In some classes I am successful at some classes but not all of them. An example would be I’m better at geometry than English.

When the word success prices the air around me the fist thing I think about is volleyball. Why? Well here it is, earlier this year I played on the varsity volleyball team, before each game we went to a place as a team and cheered. One of our cheers was “Success” and now I cant help but run it through my head every time I hear the word.

When I hear the word success I think of someone who is doing above standards. They are doing well in their job, their family, or in general life. I want to be successful at most everything I do. If I do everything I want to do and I’m successful at it then I will be successful later on. I feel like I am a successful student. I do this by keeping my grades up and by doing my homework.

What I think of when I hear the word success is how well a person does at whatever they do and how strong their will power is to do it. I want to successful in school, sports, future jobs, being a mother one day, and everything that I am going to do in life. I feel that I am successful as a student because I maintain good grades and try as hard as I can to keep them there. I never give up and if I mess up I try to fix it. One person that I think is successful is my Aunt Sherri. She is a great aunt, does well at her job, and never gives up with whatever she is doing. =) I have several quotes that I will include and here they are below.

When I hear success, I think of a person that is good at what they do, anything from sports to academics to their job. When I put it into my life, I would like to be successful at everything I do, specifically my job because that will give me the money to use towards having opportunities at being successful at other things (hobbies). When thinking of my role as a student, looking at the big picture I think I am very success because I am maintaining a 4.0 and just got on the honor roll last week. When I pick apart the week it makes me feel a little less successful because take math for instants, I am not really understanding trigonometry right now so it makes me feel less successful as a student. Finally, the quote that I think best describes success (to me) is this: “Action is the foundational key to all success.” by Pablo Picasso.

When I hear the word success I think of getting something done in a great why. Also to me it means that something that you worked really hard to get then it happens. An example from my life would be if I got to at least 70 feet in discuss. Right now I've only got to 51 feet, but still if i would be able to get to 70 it would be a huge success for me.

Kelli- I like your example but there are many more believe me. =) You don’t fail everything either. You are an amazing friend, sister, and person. People may fail once but you try again and again until you get it right or learn from your mistake. The number one rule in success is never giving up I’ve learned this from my whole family. The remembering thing is getting fixed =). Thanks Kelli I really appreciate that you think I’m very successful but I can’t take all the credit it’s because of the way I’m raised for why I’m so successful. Your right though I don’t give up, I try my absolute hardest, and I am always willing to help others when they are struggling when I can. I’ve helped you try to memorize things, understand some things, and with whatever you needed help with =). You are successful you just don’t see it but I do. You may not succeed in school or sports but I can think of many things that you do. Like while watching the boys you make sure nothing goes really bad, you can cook better than me, you can express yourself a lot better than most people, you have a better understanding of math than me, and several more =).
Katlyn McClain
3/10/2011 02:02:50 pm
Mackie- I love your definition =). It’s funny to me that you think of that cheer. Would you teach it to me sometime so that I know what cheer you are talking about =). I have the same goal Mackie to be successful in everything I do. Even though we both know that is a real high goal we both have it just to push ourselves to do the best we can =). Your right about the grade thing. What really matters is what you hold on to and remembers from the classes you had, not really the grades. I love your person that you think is successful. Mrs. Field is a good person to have as an example and someone to ask for help with anything.
Evan Wolf

When I hear success I think of someone who has set a goal and has achieved it or someone who has wanted something for so long and worked so long at it and they finally got it. If there was one thing I could be successful at it would be farming because I like to farm so I want to be successful in it. You don’t just want to live your life not doing your best, everyone want to do there best sometime in there life time even if the other person doesn’t think what you did was your best just as long as you meet all the standards. Me being a student at pomeroy high school I try to be the best that I can be and do my best in all my classes even thought my grades aren’t the best that just means I want to work harder at what I'm doing. One successful person in my life is my dad because he farms and is good at it so I want to be like him some day or better them him at farming.

When I hear the word success I think of someone do their best and also accomplishing what ever their goal or task is. Success isn’t just doing something perfect to someone it might be trying there hardest on something. Something I want to be successful in my life with is achieving to become a surgeon. I want to be successful in college and get good grades and do go throughout medical school. Also when I am a surgeon I want to be able to do good every day at my job and be successful. I feel right now that I am successful as a student because my lowest grade is a low “B” and that I can understand what is going on in most of my classes. One successful person that I know is Mr. Peterson because every day he is improving players musical ability and although he may not do this every day, he tries to really hard and succeeds most of the time in making players better.

When I hear the word success I think of accomplishing something that I tried really hard to succeed. To me it means hard work. In my life I want to be successful at my career. Whatever that career might be I want to try my hardest and know that’s the best I can do. I want to succeed in my life in many ways but I have to say the most important to me would probably be my career. I feel that I am successful as a student. Being successful doesn’t always mean winning sometimes it just means trying your hardest. I do try my hardest in my schoolwork so I do believe I’m successful. One person to me that I find successful would probably have to be my grandma. She tried her hardest everyday at her work, no matter what. After the hardest day at work she would come home and help her family as much as possible. She had a very tough childhood when both her parents died at a young age but she didn’t let that stop her from trying her hardest. That is why to me she is a successful person. George Sheehan said “Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be”. That is the quote that reminds me the most about success.

What I think when I hear the word success is not money or expensive things but I think it is happiness. You can be successful and not drive a brand new car or have a mansion and be a star on a T.V. show. I think you can be successful just by having a mediocre job with a family a house. This is what I think when I hear the word success. I want to be successful in school and go to college. That is what some short-term success goals are for me right now. Later on something I would like for me to be successful is have a family and a full time job. These are some things I would like to be successful at when I am older. I feel that I am successful as a student right now because I have a goal to get a 3.25 GPA and receive my white Letter P. This would show that I am successful academically. Another reason I think I am a successful student is because I am passing every class as of right now and got the principles award last year as an eighth grader. One successful person I know is my dad. He has a family of six and a house and a full time job. I think being a mature adult helped with this. “ a successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.” – David Brinkley

When I think of the word success, I think of someone who has prospered from their attempts or endeavors. A person that has tried their hardest to get to the place that they have gotten. I personally want to be successful in everything that I do, especially in my future career as a vet. My life goal is to become as great of a vet as Dave Rustebakke, our personal vet.

The word success to me means a lot of things but one of the most important things is that success means to accomplish what you either wanted to or what you thought you couldn’t. One thing I would like to be successful at would be my job. I hope to become a mechanic. I wish to be successful at getting and maintaining that job. In my role as a student I do not think that I am doing it very well. I don’t really try. One of the most successful people I know is probably my bus driver Jerry Moore. He has many talents. He plays quite a few instruments including guitar, piano, and trumpet. He is teaching me how to play guitar and I hope to play a lot of instruments like him someday.

Wyatt, I like your quote; “ a successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.” this shows that a person has to learn how to fail in order to learn how to succeed, I really liked the fact that you choose that one because it put a lot in perspective!

Personaly, I don't believe that there is a right or wrong way to define success, because success is a sebjective thing. Therefore, what success means to you might be different from what it means to me or other people, which isn't wrong. When i hear the word success the first thing i think of is the future.

When I hear the word success I think of someone striving to be all that they can be. Success to me means that you work hard and achieved your goal, you succeed. To me I want to be successful at sports, school, FFA and things like that in my life. I personally think that yes I am successful in my role as a student. I do try hard to get assignments done and turned in on time. And if I have late assignments or things I need to make up I try to come in before and after school to get caught up. For one successful person I would have to choose Esther Scoggin. I think Esther is very successful because she tries very hard to pay attention and understand what is being said. When I personally hear the word success I think of someone achieving goals that they have set for themselves as a person! I also think of someone being good at what they do! In my life I want to be successful in almost everything I do. To achieve this I try my hardest and do whatever I can to succeed meaning ill give 110% to get something done right! I feel like I am a very successful student! I get good grades and respect all my teachers. I know several successful people but I’m going to go ahead and use my dad. He is a coach to many including my sister! He always puts forth as much effort as he has. A few of his qualities include perseverance, courage, encouraging and so on. These have made him successful because he uses them at the right time I feel like! The quote I feel like describes success to me is “Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be” – Unknown

When I hear success I think of someone who was willing to put up a fight to get what they want. Not everything will just be handed to you on a silver platter, you have to take every chance you get and try your hardest to reach your goals. I want to get good enough grades to get into a culinary school and later on an art institute for photography. I want to be successful in opening my own bakery and have photography on the side. I believe I could do better as a student, as well as a person. As a student I don’t try my hardest, and therefore don’t have very successful grades. If I set my mind to it then I could accomplish almost any task. I just have to have the drive for it, as well as the will to get it done. I would say Mr. LaMunyan for a successful person. He has a good career and good life. He is hard working and knows what he wants out of life, and his students. He is a fair man and honest. Compassion and sheer will power got him to where he is today and I admire him for that.
