The presentation that I watched was Ideas on how to create a Powerful PowerPoint. Elements that I would use from this slide show were to get feed back from others, less is more, and repeating things, but not repeating things word for word. Three things that I learned from this power point were connect with the audience, keep it simple but powerful, and to have a goal in mind. I will use all of these things in my presentation by practicing and making sure that I have reviewed my presentation. Hally, I think a couple of good tips to have a successful PowerPoint presentation are to know what you're going to be presenting, connect with the audience, and of course, PRACTICE!

I watched Ideas on how to create a Powerful Presentation, some of the elements that I would like to use in my own presentation are, don't use too many different colors, make sure to look at my finished work from at least 2 meters away, make it simple, and summarized what I talked about. Some advice that I would give to you is to practice, be sure to know more than what you have on your slides, and don't bore you audience to death, connect with them.

Hally, I watched the slide show designing effective powerpoint presentations and I learned that you can look at it from 2 meters away and you will be able to estimate what the audiences view point will be. Also, keep your graphs simple. And the last is keep it clear. To make your presentation the best don’t use too many slides and keep it interesting and fun.

I watched “Extreme Presentation Makeover.” Tips that would be affective in my presentation is to not have too much information on each slide, don’t make all of the slides the exact same theme, and know who the audience is that I am presenting to. Tips to help you make a great power point would be to make it so the audience doesn’t get bored and stays into it. Have easy to read fonts and make it clear from a far distance.

I watched Tips for Effective Presentations, something that I could use was backing up about 2 feet to make sure that I can still read the presentation. Something I learned was how important the font choice was! I would recommend using fonts that would make it easy for the audience to read.

The presentation that I watched was Extreme Presentation Makeover. Elements from this slide show that I would use in my own PowerPoint are the seven questions to know your audience, use only a few words on a couple of slides to keep the audience engaged, and again repetition. Three things I learned from this presentation were to not use boring charts, don't use cheesy themes, and to not have a bunch of bullet points with lots of information on them. I will use these things in my PowerPoint effectively. Nikki, I think you could have a great presentation by engaging with the audience, practicing what you're going to say when it comes time to presenting, and to be confident.

I watched “How to make an effective presentation.” Elements that I want to put into my own presentation are have big clear fonts, keep everything simple, make it clear for the audience and draw attention to your presentation. To make a good presentation, I think you should rehearse everything and look at it from at least two meters away to make sure everything is legible and looks okay for the proper audience.

The slide show that I watched was, “How to make effective presentations.” After watching this slide show there are now some elements that I will now use in my presentations, such as, being effective. That would be sticking to some simple rules. Make sure my presentation is big, progressive, consistent, simple, clear, and with a summary. Three things that I learned from this slide show is that you do not want to use too many colors in your text, use too many pictures on one slide, and finally you only want to use sound when it is necessary. I think that you could make your PowerPoint the best by making sure that you go through and practice your presentation before presenting it to an audience.

The presentation I watched was You Suck at PowerPoint. Elements that I would do are keep one main point on each slide, use strong visuals, keep things nice and tidy and practice a lot. Three things I learned from this presentations are practice, not enough visuals and keep things nice and tidy. I will use this in my presentations by keeping things nice and tidy and not putting too much information and by practicing before I present it. Alex, I would do like what you said and make sure you practice so you don’t stumble when you present and don’t put too much information on one slide.

The three slides show names that I watched were Tips for Effective Presentations, Breaking a Presentation Rules, and Extreme Presentation Makeover. There are some things that I would add to my presentations like: Don’t choose Serif fonts like Times New Roman because they are harder to read, don’t use fronts that are smaller than 24 points, don’t use visually complex backgrounds, don’t go crazy with sound effects and animations, don’t fill the slides up with a lot of pictures, everything should match my topic and get the audience’s attention, presentations should never have more than 10 slides in them, not be longer than 20 minutes, not have fonts that are smaller than 30, and no cheesy themes. I learned not to fill the slide with pictures, I shouldn’t use a font that is 24 points or less and that the presentation should get the audience’s attention. I will use these in my presentation so it can get the audience to focus on my topic and that the slides won’t have many pictures on it. I’ll use bigger fonts so everyone can see the words and try to be interested in it.
Vegas
2/10/2016 05:34:57 pm
The presentation that I watched was Breaking a Presentation Rules, something that I would like to use would be limiting my presentations to only ten slides, and something that I learned was that fonts should not be smaller than 30 points. I would recommend for you to make sure that your fonts are big enough for your presentation to be the best.

I watched extreme presentation make over, something I would like to use would is to know your audience: what they like, why are they here. What I recommend for you is to be to know your audience and know what they are like so you can make it to where they are interested in your presentation.

I didn't aver realize how many rules I was breaking in powerpoint. I also didn't know that you were not to fill a slide with pictures. I think you should stick to you plan about making fonts bigger and having less pictures. but you should still make shure to have some pictures.

I watched don’t be a PowerPoint felon, I would like to make one idea per slide so you do not get people distracted in all the different stuff on your slide. What I recommend for you is to only use one idea on a slide because it will help with your audience and making it were they are not all distracted on all the other things if you were to use several ideas.

I read Don't be a power point felon and that will help me because I like to copy and paste a lot so I have to watch myself so I do not plegerize. My advice for you is to not copy and paste and stick to your own ideas instead of others like when I do it.

The presentation that I watched was Dodging Bullets in presentations. Elements that I would use on my presentations is to use less bullets when having lists on a presentation. Also, to use less words on each slide so it doesn't bore your audience. Three things that I learned watching this presentation was the average person talks at 150 wpm and the average person reads at 250 wpm and not to use the same colors on a presentation. Why I would use these in my presentations is so while I am presenting my audience doesn't get bored while watching my presentation and so they don't have to read too much.

Courtney, the slide show of yours I watched was dodging bullets in presentations. Three things I learned were: if you strive for simplicity, you are more likely to reach the viewer. Stay away from too many bullet points in your slides. And the last tip I learned was don’t use too much text.

2/13/2016 10:24:16 pm
I watched dogging bullets in presentations. Some elements I will like to include are to not to use to many of them. Also I learned that the best slides may have no text at all because I need to remember to not include to much text. Another thing I learned was that pictures are good because they help take a break from just reading and give a visual. I also learned that you don't need to type everything on a slide.

The three presentations I watched were ‘You suck at PowerPoint’, ‘Extreme Presentation Makeover’, and ‘Ideas on how to create a powerful presentation’. Some elements that I would like to use in my presentations are adding more visuals that aren’t just cheesy clip art, adding less text to the slides, and using better fonts. I learned how to make my slides more appealing to my audience depending on why they are watching. I also learned how tell good stories so that my presentations are not super boring and just filled with pointless facts. One last thing I learned how to do was how to spread out my points so that they aren't all crammed onto one slide because when all shoved onto the same slide the audience members could zone out because of too much information or read ahead and practically spoil your entire presentation. I will use these because they could potentially be very effective.
Nikki
2/11/2016 02:53:14 pm
The slide show that I watched was, “Breaking presentation rules.” Some element that I will now use on my own presentations are to try to keep the amount of slides on my presentation around 10, have a main point on each slide, and make sure to not let my slides be my whole presentation. Three things that I learned was the whole purpose of a slide is to attract my audience’s attention to it, then back to me, they should only have to look at my slide for a few seconds to read what is on it, and if there is detailed information I need to share, I can print off handouts for the audience. I think that you could make your PowerPoint the best if you have a good balance things on each slide.

I watched “Breaking PowerPoint Rules”. I think that using less slides will keep the audience’s attention. Having font smaller than 30 , don’t let your slide be the presentation make it your audience’s attention making the curious and getting back their attention to you and keep them focused. They should only need to look at your slide for a few seconds and be back and listening to you.

I also want to start practicing more so I'm not confused or having problems. The powerpoint I watched was effective communication with powerpoint. What I learned from this is you should always be prepared and be ready. You have to be ready for any questions that may be asked. The three slide shows that I watched were: 1. Do’s and Don’ts 2. Breaking a presentation Rule 3. Extreme presentation Makeover. In the slide shows elements that I would like to use in my own presentations are: not to read directly off of your slide during your presentation. Practice ahead of time to get it perfect. Make eye contact to your audience. Include work cited at the very end of your presentation. Don’t use horrible charts, if you use a chart, make sure that it is organized so it is readable. The seven questions to knowing your audience are: What are they here? What keeps them up at night? How can you solve their problems? What do you want them to do? How can you best reach them? How might they resist? The things I have learned while watching these three presentations are: Don’t choose Times New Roman font because it is harder to read on a screen. Use fonts like Ariel or Century Gothic, they are easier to read. Don’t use visually complex backgrounds so it isn’t too distracting. Make sure you go back and check your spelling and grammar. Why I will use these things to create the best power point is to interest the audience and so I can have an organized power point and so people can learn and understand what I am presenting.

The three slides show names that I watched were Tips for Effective Presentations, Breaking a Presentation Rules, and Extreme Presentation Makeover. The main elements that I want to use in my presentations are keeping my presentation under 20 min. so I don’t bore my listeners. The second main element is keeping my Power Pont Presentation under 10 slides so that it’s brief but still getting the full story on what I am presenting. Three thing that I learned to making the best presentation are keeping my fonts smaller than 30 so I can fit more information on each slide. The second thing that I learned is DO NOT picks Serif fonts like Times New Roman. I learned that they are harder to read this way. The third thing that I learned and will use is no cheesy themes. You want your audience to know that you are serious about what you are presenting and that you want to get through with them. These things I thought that I would use mostly so that my audience will understand me and take me seriously when I am presenting. I want my audience to know that I am serious so I have a better connection with my audience.
billy

Wyatt I think you should use seriouse themes but sometimes you need to use cheesy themes, but you are right you don't want to use cheesy themes while presenting a serious matter. to have a better connection with you audience you need to kind of know who they are, so that you know if its a serious audience you shouldn't have too many goofy slides. but if they are a goofy audience you can have a few funny things in your presentation.
Wyatt

Flynn I think in breaking a presentation an important one is never having more than 10 slides because you never want people to get board or confused when there watching your presentation. The next tone is don’t let your slides be your presentation because if this happens then you could get hung up and not knowing what your saying.

The three slide shows I watched were: Dodging bullets in PowerPoint, Extreme Presentation makeover, and don’t be a PowerPoint Felon. In the slide shows the element I would like to use in my own presentations are less text, using bullets for list only, delete some text that you want to read to them, don’t read off everything off of your slide, one slide per idea. Also to use big pictures, and no clip-art. Three things I learned are that you don’t want to use too much information on one slide because people will stop paying attention especially when you read the exact same information off of your PowerPoint because people can’t read and listen at the same time, another thing I learned is that sometimes putting pictures with no text is a good relaxer, the last thing I learned is that using bulleted for more than just information is wrong because they were made for lists.

The three presentations I chose were: Extreme Presentation Makeover, Don’t be a Power Point Felon, How to make Effective Presentations. Some of the elements that I would like to include in my power points are keeping it simple. Making my text BIG. Making things clear, like making sure that I do not have all capital letters, or making sure that the picture is a big enough size. I will use these things because I believe that these were some of the best I need to make sure that I stay consistent. Something I need to make sure I know is my audience. That way I’m not entirely boring them, or being a Power Point Felon. Make sure that the audience is either listening to you or reading your slides, they can’t do both. A skill that I learned that would be helpful is looking at it from two meters away. This helps me know if my font and pictures are big enough for the audience to see. Something that I don’t plan on putting into my presentation would be art, because it is too distracting to the audience. This is something I would not use because I don’t want to distract the audience from what I am talking about.

The slides show that I watched was Dodging Bullets in Presentations. The elements that I would like to use in my own presentation are not to use too many Bullets, not to use too many words, the best slides may have no text at all, and the slides should have a clear vision for the audience. One thing I learned from this PowerPoint presentation is that the audience will read ahead and if you are still on the first bullet they will get bored with your presentation. That is why you should make it as simple as possible but enough so the audience can still understand. Another thing I learned from this PowerPoint presentation is that “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” – Albert Einstein. The last thing I learned from this PowerPoint Presentation is that too many bullets can make the audience lose interest in what you are presenting. These three things can help me create the best PowerPoint presentation because now I know how to keep my audience from getting bored and tired of it. Billy, the power point that I watched was titled dodging bullets in presentations. Elements that I got from it were using less words per slides makes the viewers actually read the powerpoint. I learned that contrasting colors makes the powerpoint more presentable and the audience enjoys it more. I will use it in mine by using set themes that are already contrasted. The slides show that I watch was You suck at PowerPoint. The elements that I would like to use in my own presentations are to not put word by word what I’m going to say on a slide, not to overdo it with senseless data, to not use bad fonts, google good font ideas, and always keep everything nice and tidy. One thing that I learned from this PowerPoint presentation is that some fonts are better than others for the audience. Another thing I learned is that you should stick to a color scheme so that the presentation doesn’t look too crazy. The last thing I learned is that an outstanding presentation can take 30 hours or more of prep time. These things can help me make the best presentation because if it doesn’t look to crazy people will actually be able to enjoy it and if I work on my presentation early then I will have enough time to keep practicing so that I don’t stutter when I start to present. Some advice that I can give to you is that you stick to a color scheme and don’t use neon colors because it will hurt everyone’s eyes also don’t use bad fonts like Times New Roman.

The slideshows that I watched were Breaking Presentation Rules, Extreme Presentation Makeover, and Don’t be a PowerPoint Felon. So what I would like to take form these slideshows is to know your audience and know if they are going to be bored or not and to remember that less is more with text on a slide and just to make it look more like your own than less like everyone else. And to know that in order to get you audience’s attention you can’t just read off your slides because that bored them. I have a tendency to read off exactly what’s off my slide. But what really surprised me that I never knew 10/20/30 rule only 1o slides no more than 20 minutes and contains fonts smaller than 30. And the author of this slideshow said that the slide should attract your audience’s attention and should make them curious and then focus their attention on you which should be the important thing to do on your presentation. I think I also learned was that when you insert a picture you should make sure re isn’t that the picture isn’t blurry or unable to look at. So I think that’s what all those presentations main idea was.

The three PowerPoints I watched were Breaking a Presentation Rules, Extreme presentation Makeover, and Don't be a PowerPoint felon. I learned that you need to try and eliminate text from the slides because people won't listen to you and read the slides at the same time so by getting rid of some of the text you can continue to elaborate on your topic without your audience being distracted. Another thing I learned was to know your audience they are not going to pay attention to something that they don't care about so by knowing who they are you can direct the presentation to them and what would make them interested. I also learned to keep one idea per slide so that the entire audience is on the same page and so that they pay more attention to me then what the slide says. I think I would like to include all of these tips that I have learned they all have one thing in common and thats to keep the audiences attention on what I'm presenting. Which is important considering it's a PowerPoint presentation but by limiting what's on your slide it really makes you have to familiarise yourself with your presentation so you know what's going to be said or read and by putting in that extra effort I think it will make the presentation way better.

My first presentation I chose was why you suck at PowerPoint. The second one I chose was don’t be a PowerPoint felon, and the third one I chose was ideas on how to create a powerful presentation. Comments are closed.
