Using a search engine locate a website that talks about the history of the computer. Read the site and write a 150 word summary of the information in that site. Also include if you think that the site gives you reliable information and if you would recommend someone doing research on computers to use this site. In your response first provide the URL for that site, then your summary.
For your reply to other students pick 2 students that have different sites and read their sites and then give one interesting fact that you learned from that site. Also tell them if you agree or disagree with their opinion on the site being reliable and why. The first comment under this post will be an example of a response, you CANNOT use the same website or reply to my Example.

I think that this website was a great source, and I would recommend it to others when doing this project. I agree with your opinion that there was a lot of valuable information to use on the site you chose. You did a great post.

Cole- I thought your website had very good information on it. It helped me learn that when the first computer came out they were just trying to get them smaller and to work faster and to hold more memory for stuff. If your computer could do that back then it was worth a lot of money.

Steven- I was impressed you found a site that gave dates. The site was very useful and helped further my knowledge of the long history of the computer. The site also talked a lot about the progression of the computer and how fast it progressed. On my web site i told me it took a long time for it to progress so the two different stories helped my knowledge of the computer.

Jackson- I found your web site to be confusing to find the information I needed. Once I found it I thought it was very interesting. The Computer History Museum holds events year round dedicated to computers and the history of them. I also learned how the museum supports education by offering a complete scholarship to collage students. I would recommend this web site to others because it has many reliable sources on it.

http://www.computersciencelab.com/ComputerHistory/History.htm. The very first computers were actuly people. The word "Computer" was actuly a job for human beings(mostly women)it was used to describe the people who performed repetitive caculations requiered to compute such things. I do think this is a very good website to look up the history of the computer because, it starts on the first computers in the world. I never knew that a computer was a job a long time ago. Also it can tell you what ever you want to know about the computer itself. Yes I would recomend this site to a person who is doing a report on the computer. It helped me alot on this little sumary, and I'am prety sure it can help others too. It also starts out on how it was like a caculater. I like this site alot.

http://www.computerhope.com/history/ This is the site I chose. The information on it tells you about what the first computer was and how they came along. It tells you how they are being used today. Also it explains how the Internet is used and how people use it. On this site it shows questions people have asked and the answers they got back. It shows the history of the Internet processor also. So if you want to know about anything involving the computer or internet go to this site. There is a timeline on the side that shows how computers came to be and how electricity happened. So if we didn’t have electricity then we wouldn’t have the computer which is why that’s important. With this sight you can pretty much look up anything about computers that you want to know. It is a very helpful sight to me and I hope other people found it interesting

Jonathan-I thought your sight was pretty cool because it had a lot of information on a timeline and the interesting thing I found out about it is that Bill Gates brought to us the “Xbox” and I thought that was cool because I like video games and well I have an Xbox 360. I just thought it was cool to know about the stuff I have that Bill Gates has. The other cool thing was that the Xbox was introduced on January 7th, 2001, and I never knew that. That’s what I learned from your site and I think next time I do research on a computer I’m probably going to go check out your site because it looks like it has reliable information.

Jackson- I like your site because it looks like a really good site to do research on. It looks like this site was well put together. I noticed it says on the homepage of your site that today is the 20th birthday to the public Web. It marks 20 years since the public Web announcement in several online forums and the release of the WWW code library, libWWW. I thought that was interesting because if I had gone on this site I would have never figured that out in the first place. I do agree with you that this site is reliable because your right there is a lot of followers from Facebook and Twitter. So I learned some good information on this site.
