"Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence." From this quote there are many different meanings and many different ways to autograph your work.
Re-read the quote then tell us how you interpert this quote. Explain how you relate this to your school work and the things you currently do in your life. Finally how will you make sure to follow this rule when you are in the working world. When you respond to other students, because you know them so well, give them some constructive criticism about how they autograph their work.

If I understand this right, I think the quote means to have people know that you are good at something. How do I relate this to my school work and life? Well I do not have excellence at anything but that’s just me. I think I do good or great at some things like turning in homework or try to get A’s B’s or even C’s in my classes. In my life I think the same thing because I don’t have excellence at farming or any other thing; I just think that I’m good or great at it. How will you make sure to follow this rule when you are in the working world? When I find the job that I absolutely want and that I am excellent at, you will know when the next time you see me.

"Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence." This quote can mean any number of things to any number of people. To me it means that everything that you do, from school work to sports, to cleaning your room has part of you in it, on it, or within it. You put your name on your assignments at school right? In many ways that is just like “autographing’ your work. When you turn the assignment in it means that you have put all the effort into your work. Only that isn’t what it means in most cases. When kids turn in an assignment it means they finished and think that they got the answer right. Not that they had to try hard to figure it out or that they made it clean and neat, just that they finished. I know that for some classes I don’t try very hard, but I don’t need to. I am very good at the classes I don’t try hard in, but for other classes like math I have to try really hard and still don’t get the grades I want. In sports you might have a victory dance that you do after you do something well, or a signature throw. Either way you have an “autograph” when you do sports too. So to me that is what the quote meant when it said that you “autograph” your work. :D

My view of the quote is that you need to do your best in everything you do because it shows a part of who you are to everyone else that you meet and work with. This relates to everything I do. I work my hardest with whatever life throws at me to the best and sometimes even better than my abilities. People don’t always realize that what they do now will impact your future and how others see you. Like if you don’t try, slack off, and don’t care then people wont want to hire you when you get older sometimes people won’t even be your friends now. But if you’re someone that tries his/her hardest, cares very much, and doesn’t slack off then you will have a better chance at getting hired or having friends. I will make sure I’m following this rule because I already try to do my best and better than my abilities. If I’m having problems following the rule then I will ask myself I’m I really doing my best work, what would my aunt say to such a bad report, and several other questions to keep myself from not following the rule.

Tyler- I loved your last sentence “when I find the job that I absolutely want and that I am excellent at, you will know when the next time you see me. I thought was a wonderful ending. I also thought it was very modest of you to say that you aren’t excellent at anything but your good or great. It shows that you don’t like to brag about yourself and that’s a good characteristic. You’re right about the homework that’s one way of showing your best. Overall I really liked yours.

Mackie- I really loved how you interpreted the quote. “To me it means that everything you do, from school work to sports, to cleaning your room has part if you in it, on it, or within it.” I completely agree with it because it does have a part of you on it, in it, or within it as you said above and I shows people what you can and can’t so very well. Your also right about how kids don’t have to try in all of his/her classes because some are easy for us to do and understand. But some kids have to struggle with all and try really hard with all and some are able to do all the classes with ease. I am personally one of the kids that have some that I struggle with and the rest with ease. Overall I enjoyed your view of the quote and liked it very much.

I think that in a job the work is a self-portrait of a person. It depends on how well your work ethic is. For example if you have a good work ethic your job is will be done pretty well. If you have a really bad work ethic and your saying oh whatever I don’t care your work wont be good. I relate this in my schoolwork by when I have a project. If I work really hard and do a good job I would get an A or B, but with a bad work ethic I would have made it the night before and just through it together. That wouldn’t be very good because you would get a bad grade. A example in things I do would be cross country. If you are not willing to push yourself you will never be able to get as good as you want to. This also applies to track and just about every sport. I will make sure I follow this rule by putting all my effort to get the best grade I can get.

“Every job is a self portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.” This phrase means so much to me and I have known of the quote for quite awhile. To me this means that every little task you do, you need to give it your all, your one hundred and ten percent. This can apply to whatever job you have, whether it is being a student, an employee, or a member of sports team. How we do whatever it is we are doing is a reflection of us and speaks to the type of person we are. Working hard and doing our best can become a habit so that when we are a part of the work force we will continue that habit and give whatever it is, one hundred and ten percent.

This quote to me means how well you do on something is how others perceive you. If you really don’t try and do a bad job on something then that is how you will be seen. An autograph is who you are. Well isn’t what you do and what you try to do a picture of who you are? So this quote means to me being the best you can be so others will see you as that. There are many ways I relate this into my schoolwork. Even the littlest things I try to do my best in. To do that shows that you try to do your best and that is what kind of person you are. I take pride in doing well on something and trying hard. When I do something that isn’t good material work it shows to other that I don’t care. Some ways to follow this rule is to try your hardest in every thing you do. Proofread and practice. Just make sure what you are doing is the best you can do.

I believe that this quote means that you should do your best and be proud of it. To autograph your work with excellence would be the same as being known for doing a good job. This quote to me means that what ever job or anything you do your actions will be reflect on who you are. So if your act mean towards others that will tell them that your mean if you do not complete a job on time it might mean your lazy. A way I would relate this to my life is like when I do an test or a quiz I need to do excellent on the test or quiz other wise it might show the teacher that I’m lazy and don’t know the material. I do this because I want to have a good reputation. A way to keep this going is by having a good work ethic at everything I do.

“Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.” That quote can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but to me, I think that it means what you do is a reflection of who you are. You don’t want to do a horrible job on something and call it your own. It could give off a look that says to other people that you are lazy, irresponsible, or just plain don’t care. But, if you do an amazing job at something, that blows a teachers mind or just earns you an A. That should represent a good student. Someone that really cares about what they are doing. If you turn in a piece of work that is very good which most of us know, Taylor prince, Uto, Mackie, Esther and so many others of us do quite often. You can tell with what you do that you put a lot of time and effort into what you are doing and that you truly care about what you have done or are in progress of doing. If you honestly care about whatever it is, like your most important class, which to most of us, I believe, is math. Because who wants a bad grade in math? That just means you have to retake it and math would not be a fun class to retake. But, if you study as hard as you can and get a good grade on a big test because you worked that hard to do it, your not afraid to say, “yeah, this is my test.” And show it off to everyone you know. To me, that is what this quote means. What you do represents who you are and if you don’t care about it, you’re not going to want to represent it very much because you don’t like what results you received because you didn’t care about what work you had to do, and you don’t want people knowing that you didn’t care or didn’t know how to do whatever it is you were trying to do.

Katlyn- I’m glad we come to agree on this quote! Basically if you do everything one hundred percent you will be remembered or have your “autograph” on everything you did that was excellent. I overall really like how you thought on this. It made sense and was easy to understand! It’s not all about a simple signature it is also about how you pursue yourself as a person.

“Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.” What I think this quote means is much like a self-portrait your work represents you. By looking at your work people can tell a lot about you and you have the decision to tell weather your going to make it nice and neat or sloppy like you would make the same decision on a self-portrait. At school the work you do is a good example of how you can make the decision. Your teachers will be able to judge what kind of student you are just by looking at your work and seeing the amount of effort you put into it. I will make this rule play in my life by putting 100% in all of my work so my self portrait comes out looking good.

I think this a very interesting quote. I think this quote means that if your good at your work then you show excellence, and if your bad at your work then your autograph will be bad. You can try your hardest at your work but you might not be excellent. That is how I feel about the work I do in and out of school. Outside of school I think I accomplish more tasks with excellence. I will learn to follow this rule in the business world by thinking that if I’m doing a bad job with my work then I will have a bad self portrait, and if I have I do a good job then I will have a good self portrait.

In my opinion this quote is saying that your work shows who you are to a certain degree. I think “Autograph your work with excellence” is saying that, if you get your job done right and well, you are saying that you have a good work ethic and are willing to put your time in to make sure that your job is finished and finished with the highest amount of quality as possible. When I do my homework, or just my school work in general, I try my best to do as good as I possibly can, I take my grades seriously and I hope that in a result of that I will be taken serious by teachers and colleges in the future. I also work very hard in sports and rodeo, I try to ride my horses as much as possible so when I go to a rodeo I am taken seriously, and I do this because not only is winning fun, but I also want to be taken seriously because if I ever would like to pursue a career in the horse business I want people to know that I have a good work ethic and am not just there to screw around. I think this quote is very appropriate for the working place because if you follow this quote/rule you will probably be rather successful. Try to get your work done and do it well, using your time effectively will also help you follow this rule.

First of all what does “Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence” mean to me? I take this quote as a personated opinion; therefore I believe it to be neither right nor wrong. To say the every person does a job that paints a self-portrait is true. Think of it this way. As a lawyer you would think of someone as professional, precise and smart, as well as a good problem solver. Unlike a garbage man you would think more of smelly and dirty making their job seem lower class, even though they’re big contributors. Have you ever heard someone say that the only way to judge the character of a person is by the work that they do? I believe that this relates to this quote a lot because; in either quotes or sayings they are stating that the job is showing the performance of that person or telling about that person. Next, “autograph your work with excellence.” Can’t you just sign your name really good? No. To autograph with excellence means to take pride in doing your best.

Hmm well to me the quote means you need to work as hard as you can possibly dish out. What am I excellent at? I'd would have to say singing... its the only time that I may truly push everything I can out, like all my frustrations and stress. It makes me calm. Luckily I've been told i sing fairly well so I don't irritate people too badly when I start singing at random. Also luckily enough I am starting to get better on my school work and stuff. :) At home though? ...yeah no I am not excellent at anything at home... You can ask my mom.

The way you do the job describes what kind of person you are. If you do a halfway job and call it good then that’s just telling us that you’re a slacker. When you’re doing work make sure it’s your best, prove that you not only can, but also will strive to do the greatest work in your ability. Autographing your work with excellence is like saying, “Here is my work. It was the best I could accomplish and I cared enough to try my hardest and prove myself.” In school I try to finish my work, in a way that shows ME. If I want to show a teacher that I am committed then doing good work is a sure fire way to start. When you do the chores, or clean the kitchen, you aren’t just going to put away the dishes, barely wipe off the counter, and expect your parents to give you an allowance for a job they could have done better on. If your trying to impress your boss, you wont just try to hurry and get the job done but have it suck. Take the time to do it right but don’t go over your deadline. If you have to put in some extra hours, well great. It shows that you’re willing to commit. </:3 this is my party autograph!

When I read that quote I thing it mean that people will look at somebody’s work and they can tell who did the work and I thing after someone has been there they can tell that they did the work. When you do your schoolwork teachers can usually tell by your handwriting or by the work that you did. At home your mom or dad can tell your work by what it looks like. So when you go on in life and get a job your going to want people to recognize your work that you do and your going to want to be paid for the good work you do when you go on and get a life. There are going to be things that aren’t your best work but there going to be out there for people to see so your just going to have to face so of the bad work that you do in life.

I think this is a very pleasing quote. To me this quote is saying that that you are showing people what they can do. You can relate this quote to school work by showing classmates as well as the teacher what can do and showing them the work that you do. Show teachers your work can really make an impact to them as well as you classmates. To make sure that you are using this rule in the working world you have to show all your work to employers and or customer of your service so that they know that you are a hard worker. This is my thoughts on this quote “Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.”

"Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence." I think that this quote means many things, but to me it means one certain meaning that you are what you do. Your life is based on the choices YOU make. If you make the right choices then you will be okay, but if you make the wrong choices then you will have trouble handling things, but sometimes making the wrong choices in life can help you learn from those choices and next time make better ones. In life there are a lot of hard choices but you need to pick the right one and the one that will be better for you and your future. I try my hardest on my school work. It sometimes may not show that i do, but i really do try my best. I think that trying your best at things that you will succeed in life and do very well in the real world.

"Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence." The quote to me means that the work that you do describes you. So if you do a poor job, people will most likely think that you are lazy and if it is your employer, the might fire you for it. However, if you did a good job, they will be pleased and might even give you a raise! I think that if everyone did their jobs with this quote in mind, that everyone’s jobs would be done great, as they would want to be remembered for the great work they had done. Comments are closed.
